A lot of people don't like this album as much as Different Class. I am one of them. However, the difference is that I still think This Is Hardcore is a very good album, with several (mostly front-loaded) great songs. This might be because it was the first Pulp album I heard, and got to experience Different Class as a step up, rather than This Is Hardcore as a step down. I'd also like to use this space to point out to non-fans that, despite all appearances to the contrary, the album is not (really) about sex.
