Pulp's Different Class is one of those albums that you just can't believe how good it is. So you listen again and--yep! Still amazing! The lyrics, far better than your usual Eve 6-esque attempts at sophomoric humor, are actually extraordinarily witty, and as funny the fiftieth time you hear them as the first. Add to that a constant, trenchant theme of class dissassociation and frustration, on top of a cloud of fun, hooky music and you have one of the best records ever. The whole thing's a standout, but the best of the best are "Mis-shapes," "I Spy," "Disco 2000," "Sorted for E's and Wizz," and of course the transcendent "Common People."
