Pearl Jam
Yield

There aren't a lot of bands still willing these days to play straight-out, unadorned rock music, which is why you have to love Pearl Jam. That said, they had for a while developed a tendency to be willfully obscure in order to stave off some of the negative effects of fame. It worked, but it worked by dint of their albums not really being worth purchasing. Fortunately, Yield was their return back to music people would actually want to hear, like "Given To Fly," "Brain of J," and the scathing "Do The Evolution." (The hidden track at the end of "All Those Yesterdays" is also a lot of fun.)
